This site is dedicated to people who have had or will have surgery for a life-saving ostomy. For those who are un-informed, an ostomy is a redirection of the way waste is eliminated from the body. It consists of a new opening in your intestines or colon to re-route the process, usually on or about your abdomen.
An appliance (pouch) is attached to collect output. There is nothing shameful about this alternative. After all, it saved my life!
For those of you like me, our lives have drastically changed. We still live a good life, but many adjustments have been made to deal with our new attachment. This site intends to address issues regarding such.
